Sari moved out to Los Angeles in 2008 and currently works in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District and also practices independently as a home-based OT with occasional supplemented sensory clinic-based sessions.
Sari is certified in Sensory Integration Theory and Practice and specializes in handwriting development. Sari continues to take continuing education courses in areas that are related to childhood development and therapeutic techniques so she can provide the best quality of care to the children she works with.
“As an occupational therapist I get to look at a child as a “whole” and address so many different aspects of his/her life in order to be an active, successful learner in school and participate physically and socially in a variety of activities. I have always practiced with a team-centered approach, as it is essential that parents and teachers are all involved in the child’s road to success. In each child’s therapy session I find enjoyable and innovative ways to help him/her achieve their goals.” – Sari Ockner OTR/L
